A chukka is the most useful boot there is, because it does not announce itself. It goes under a trouser as easily as over a jean.

This one is suede, laced, on a textured sole that actually grips rather than looking like it might. It is true to size, which is worth stating because most boots are not and most brands do not say so.

Suede needs a brush now and then. In return it looks better in its second year than its first, which leather-look never manages.
